LOCAL BUSINESS WOMEN COME TOGETHER TO MAKE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE
On 7 October 2009 Like Minded Women (LMW) will host a networking event exclusively for business women and in aid of children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
The event is expected to attract up to 150 business women from across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Northamptonshire and has even caught the eye of business women from as far a field as Wales and France.
Held at the luxurious 4* hotel, Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire, the evening offers ladies the chance to network and discuss ideas while enjoying fine food and drink. Guests will be entertained by the Athena Stage School, the highly acclaimed Abba Girls Tribute band, a high profile motivational speaker and guest speakers from CLIC Sargent.
Leanne Flower, Director of Like Minded Women, comments “From our experience of running women-only networking events, it is clear that women generally have a softer approach to ‘doing business’ than their male counterparts. Taking that into consideration the evening has been designed to help them make business contacts and build relationships with other business women in a relaxed, yet organised, environment”.
All profits raised from the evening will be donated to CLIC Sargent. The charity helps children and young people with cancer and their families with the trauma of diagnosis, the often long journey through treatment and continues to support them afterwards. Every day 10 families are told the devastating news that their child has cancer. CLIC Sargent is the only charity offering them care and support, every step of the way.
Leanne adds, “Most women are in business because they want to make a difference. This evening will provide them with a platform to do exactly that. Throughout the course of the evening we will unveil an exclusive charity challenge which has the potential to raise £110,000 for CLIC Sargent. The six day challenge will take place in October 2010 but charity fund raising for this challenge will commence on the night.”
Henry Street, CLIC Sargent’s Challenge Events Coordinator, says “We’re delighted that Like Minded Women has chosen to support CLIC Sargent and this networking event will give local business women a chance to hear more about who we are and what we do. The challenge they have decided to take on is really exciting and I would urge any business woman looking to do something different for a good cause in 2010 to come along and find out more!”
