I'm Emily, the founder of Write My Site - a copywriting and training agency specialising in words for the web. When I started the business in July 2006, I established it as a specialist website copywriting business. I wanted to offer a service that would help small businesses promote their products and services to maximum effect via their websites. So many people have great businesses but don't know how to word their websites so they appeal both to search engines and to customers. I wanted to provide a solution.

Within a few months, I'd built up a pretty decent client list, including 25 of The Best Of websites and lots of small businesses and sole traders who I met at networking events. There was too much work for me to do by myself so I put together a team of talented freelance writers, rented out some office space and took on an in-house Marketing Manager, called Sandra.

This extra 'people power' opened up a number of opportunities (I'm a true convert to the principle that in business it's people that make or break your company!). Sandra quickly identified four kinds of people who might benefit from working with us:

1) Small businesses

Write My Site thrives today thanks to the confidence placed in us by small businesses so we will always endeavour to keep up with their requirements. We remain focused on providing search engine friendly sales text for websites, but we have built this service into more wide-ranging copywriting packages. Clients can choose from a range of options from a few pages of web content and a press release, through to business expansion packages consisting of a website re-write, email marketing campaign and monthly newsletter.

2) Big businesses

Larger companies often employ their own marketing people to take care of copywriting but even the best people in the business need to develop their skills. We offer a selection of in-house training courses and seminars to companies who want to develop their marketing people in this way.

3) Web designers, SEO consultants and similar

Within a few weeks of launching Write My Site I was receiving approaches by web designers, developers, consultants and so on, who had struggled to find decent copywriters to write text for their clients' websites and marketing literature. A structured membership scheme is now in place to provide such affiliates with exclusive copywriting discounts.

4) Publishers

Having a team of writers has the advantage of scalability. A number of national publishing companies and media agencies now rely on Write My Site for daily content. They use us because they know they can rely on us to meet their deadlines, however short-notice.
